Helping patients and carers navigate healthcare services: SCHN Patient Portal Launch..

In collaboration with Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN), Consultmed has launched a self-referral patient portal service. This platform enables patients and their families to self-refer by uploading referral letters directly  from their GP and other primary healthcare providers. Once submitted, outpatient staff at SCHN are able to process the referral and book an appointment with a specialist, eliminating multiple administrative steps and manual-handling of the referral. Patients and carers immediately  receive email notifications so that they can easily track the referral process.

As well as embracing digital referrals, SCHN has published some very helpful information about digital referrals and the benefits for both patients and healthcare providers.  The new ‘clinical hub’ featured on the SCHN website is user-friendly and means that patients and families can find the information they need quickly:
